Floyd Mayweather Has A Huge Surprise For Next Bout

Floyd Mayweather has announced he is having a rematch with Marcos Maidana on Sept. 13, 2014 to follow up their first fight which resembled an MMA bout. In my opinion Floyd should have skipped this fight, because Maidana doesn’t deserve a rematch. The only reason it was a close match has all to do with Marcos using street tactics and mauling Floyd showing close to no boxing skills whatsoever. There are easily a handful of better fights Floyd could take which would generate more money (that’s all he cares about) as well provide boxing fans a regret free $80 night of pay per view boxing and fights that could be talked about for years.

After the rematch in May of 2015 Floyd has a surprise for fight fans and one could only assume that surprise is a super fight with Manny Pacquiao. This fight still generates a ton of interest but would have been worthy of the label super fight if it had taken place 3 years ago.

Is Mayweather vs Pacquiao finally coming in May 2015? http://www.badlefthook.com/2014/7/19/5919411/is-mayweather-vs-pacquiao-finally-coming-in-may-2015 via @badlefthook. When Floyd Mayweather recently promised a “big surprise” for May 2015, which he would announce after his September rematch with Marcos Maidana, a lot of minds went to the same place. Would Mayweather finally fight Manny Pacquiao? Is boxing’s long-destructive Cold War finally coming to a true end, with Mayweather dealing with Top Rank to make boxing’s biggest money fight?

The source who mentioned Pacman vs Mayweather is going to happen in 2015, who’s both a manager and trainer and quite knowledgeable, said Floyd Senior made the remark about Pacquiao as they discussed other matters. He wasn’t absolutely sure that Daddy Floyd wanted his comments repeated so he asked me not to identify him. He’s known the father for many years. Floyd Senior, he said, wants the fight to cement his son’s legacy and bring in what would certainly be the biggest haul in boxing history. The source wasn’t absolutely certain when they spoke two weeks ago that the entire team was in agreement on a Pacquiao fight.

“I thought at the time that maybe the dad was just saying that because he was trying to motivate the fight.” Just the fact that the father is pushing for the fight is significant, but the source said that since then he’s seen other indications that the rest of the team is on board.”
